Holding Minnesota

A Virtual Prayer Room

WELCOME

Hosted by the Movement Chaplains.
This is a virtual prayer room for the Minnesota community and for all who are holding this moment from afar.
We gather here in prayer, grief, silence, and care
in response to ongoing violence, fear, and disruption.
You do not need the right words.
You do not need to explain your pain.
You are welcome here.
At certain times, we gather live online for communal prayer and silence.
Cameras are optional. Speaking is optional.
Presence is enough.
(Details will be shared here when gatherings are scheduled.)

How to use this space

You may enter this space for a few moments or for as long as you need.
You are invited to sit quietly, read the prayers below, light a candle where you are, or offer a prayer of your own.
This is not a space for debate or commentary.
It is a space for holding one another with dignity, care, and honesty.

prayers for the community

We invite you to offer prayers for specific members of our community who are carrying this moment in different ways.
You may write one prayer, or several. All prayers will be held with care and will be shared with the communities intended.

For children and youth

We hold children and youth whose bodies and hearts are absorbing fear, confusion, and disruption.
Those who hear more than they should.
Those who are watching adults struggle to protect them.
Offer a prayer or kind words for their safety, tenderness, and future.

For families and those directly affected

We hold families and individuals living under the weight of this federal occupation.
Those who have been detained, targeted, separated, or forced into hiding.
Those whose lives have been disrupted in ways the world may never see.
Offer a prayer for protection, dignity, and strength or a message of hope, love and safety.

for the twin cities community

We hold all who live and work across the Twin Cities metro area.
Neighbors navigating fear, anger, grief, and uncertainty.
Communities stretched thin, yet still showing up for one another.
Offer a prayer for safety, wisdom, and collective care or send a message of hope and comfort.

For Those Offering Mutual Aid and Embodied Presence

We hold those offering mutual aid and embodied presence in this moment.
Those showing up with their bodies, time, resources, and care.
Those cooking, driving, watching, protecting, organizing, praying, and staying.
Those carrying others while carrying their own fear and exhaustion.
Offer a prayer or message for strength, safety, wisdom, and rest.
